Our Fall Conference has successfully concluded.  We had the highest overall attendance in quite some time.  This included 17 STUDENT POSTER PRESENTATIONS!  There were many positive comments about these posters and our poster coordinator, Aris Rodriguez, is thanked for a tremendous job.

We have received many positive verbal comments and want to congratulate Program Chair, Marc Kinon for his organization.  He, in turn, has thanked his panel moderators: Mikaela Rabinowitz, Mia Bird, Cory Woods, Elizabeth Siggins, and Erinn Herberman for gathering such a great group of presenters.  Thursday’s Keynote Speaker, Deshonna Collier-Goubil, got the conference off to an energized start and Friday Keynoter, Sandra Morgan, kept up the interest for Friday’s panels. Results of the Conference Survey will be published on the website in a couple of weeks.

This is a collaborative document, so you may find the first few columns filled in for your organization. Check the information and add to it if you can. You also can help by sending publication links, notices, and information on other events to Information for students (programs, internships, etc.) and student research papers is especially welcomed. NOTE: dates within the first two weeks of April are being determined.  WE will again be at our new location: THE CALIFORNIA ENDOWMENT CONFERENCE CENTER IN OAKLAND.  Our conference hotel is again the Z Hotel in Jack London Square.

There is a free shuttle that runs up and down Broadway every 10-15 minutes, from our conference site to Jack London Square, where our hotel is and where we’ll have the cocktail event and Board dinner. Here is a link:

The Program Chair for the Fall Conference is Cory Woods.  Cory has several ideas for panels, but needs more ideas and volunteers to be panel moderators. If you have some research you think would be of interest to our eclectic audience, ideas for panelists or keynote speakers, or issues you would like to hear discussed, contact Cory at
