Our Fall Conference has successfully concluded.  We have received many positive comments and want to congratulate the Program Chairs, Erinn Herberman and Karyn Milligan.  They put in a lot of work and did a fantastic job!.

If you attended the conference and have not yet completed a Conference Survey, you can find it on-line.

If you were unable to attend the conference, Notes and presentations will be posted on the website by earl November.  Look for a note in our Latest News section.

While we are between conferences, WE NEED YOUR HELP WITH AN IMPORTANT INFORMATION SHARING PROJECT. Access our Peer Network Survey spreadsheet at Google.docs :

This is a collaborative document, so you will find the first few columns have some information filled in for some organizations.  Check to make sure the organization you wish to add is not already entered. Enter the name of a peer organization and any additional information you might have about it (particularly a contact person and email address). We will use this to seek further information.  You can also look over the organizations already entered to see if you can add to the information there.  Note that more than one person can be entering information at the same time. If you have any questions about using google.docs or bout the spreadsheet, please contact Jim Hess at j3hess@uci.edu.

You also can help by sending publication links, notices, and information on other events to mikesacjrca@gmail.com. Information for students (programs, internships, etc.) and student research papers are especially sought.

 

SAVE-THE-DATE FOR THE SPRING CONFERENCEMARCH 22-23, 2018.  WE ARE MOVING TO A NEW LOCATION, THE CALIFORNIA ENDOWMENT CONFERENCE CENTER IN OAKLAND.  Our conference hotel is the Z Hotel in Jack London Square.  We are planning on arranging for a shuttle between the hotel and the conference center and will have more parking information posted as part of the program and registration information in late January.

The Program Chair for the Fall Conference is Mikaela Rabinowitz.  She received a number of panel ideas at the Fall Board meeting with a preliminary focus on developing panels that will discuss disparities across the justice system, from risk assessment and intervention/prevention programs to arrests, filings bail, and sentencing and post-conviction programs.  She is interested in hearing other ideas and suggestions about what you would like to see presented and discussed.  If you have some research you think would be of interest to our eclectic audience, ideas for panelists or keynote speakers, or things about which you would like to learn more, contact Mikaela at mrabinowitz@resourcedevelopment.net.

Remember, Members can view notes and presentations from several years of previous conferences in the Member Only section of the website.  Login and password can be found on your membership card. YOUR SUPPORT IS CRITICL TO OUR CONTINUED ABILITY TO DELIVER INFORMATION AND CONDUCT CONFERENCES. CONSIDER BECOMING A MEMBER. Go to the Member menu on the Home Page and click on the Application subsection.

PROBLEM SOLVING: Between conferences we also want to see if we need to adjust our on-line conference registration and membership application procedures to correct for any problems people might have encountered.  If you ran into a problem or confusion in registering and paying, or in applying for membership, please let our Website Coordinator, Mike Stefanko, know about it (mikesacjrca@gmail.com).
